   MusicWeek 2005 is a Resounding Success   
The Music Industry Association of Belize hosts
a week full of musical events and conferences.

The Music Industry Association of Belize (MIAB), in collaboration with National Institute of Culture and History (NICH) staged the first Annual MUSIC WEEK from April 11-17, 2005.

*Music Week 2005* offered a wide range of activities with the mission to promote the works of Belizean musicians, encourage the performance and appreciation of Belizean music and to make it available both in Belize and abroad. The week's events were a unique opportunity for performers, composers, promoters, music students, managers, educators, producers and engineers from around the country to interact and learn with other music professionals while stimulating the development of Belize’s nascent local music industry. MUSIC WEEK included the following concerts at the Bliss Center for the Performing Arts in Belize City:

La Orquesta de la Papaya (20 artists on stage from the 7 Central American countries) With special appearnces by: The Grandmaster, Sam Harris and the Talla Walla Drummers , Andy Palacio, and Paul Nabor.

The Paranda Legends Concert with Aurelio Martinez, Paul Nabor, Andy Palacio, and the Garifuna All Star Band.

Other highlights of the week included the official opening of the MIAB Resource Center, and a series of conferences and panel discussions with local and international panelists.
